Hi. Here we are another year may 2009 bring you even greater joy, just thought i would drop by and share with you all what we did for new years day. It all started on new years eve when the boy asked me if i wanted to do something with him on new years day so i told him i would be happy to and to think about it and get back to me and let me know what he wanted to do so that he did. We decided that we would go to the driving range and practise with the old golf clubs although we neglected to take into consideration that the thermometer was expected to reach 38 degrees which meant that it was going to be extremely sticky and hot if there was no breeze and sure enough there wasn't. It was one of the hottest and stickiest days on record and here we are smacking balls down a driving range probably not one of the best decisions that we made but its what the boy wanted so we will see it through. Despite the heat and the excessive humidity we had a great time anyway, it is easy to make jokes and laugh at you own mistakes and i think this is one of the most valuable lessons that Lester could take away from the day. After about an hour and a half the heat was really starting to get to us so we decided to retreat to the to the air conditioning in the Ute and head for the aquatic centre for some cool relief and relief it was from the moment we walked in we could feel the cool air that the water provides so we played around pushing each other in and dunking each other for about 2 hours and just enjoyed to cool respite.
At the range.

The boy hits a good one about 185 meters.

Sorry that we have no pictures at the pool but cameras are not permitted at any pool owned and run by the Brisbane city council as some pervert was caught photographing little children and posting the pictures to the Internet. After leaving the pool we went home for a rest and in the cool of the late afternoon i got an hours sleep (hehehehehehe). As the boy calls it my Nana nap. Six o'clock came around so fast and Lester is waking me up as he has decided that he is going to cook the BBQ dinner tonight. OK time to drag my lazy little ass upstairs and get the salads and burgers ready while Lester sets up the BBQ and gives it a little clean as it has not been used in a little while.
The apprentice takes the grill.

Move over and I'll show you how its done.
Dinner is served.
Did someone say dinner is served

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
