Memoirs of an old man part 3

It was a bleak morning overcast and drizzling rain we were preparing to leave for bohol where we were booked to stay at the beach club.mid morning we arrived at the boat terminal only to find that the morning service had been cancelled which to us meant a long wait. After sitting a while we decided to go to the mall which was not far away simply to pass away the time befor returning to board our boat in the afternoon. The ferry terminal was a busy place with plenty of action and so many ships a sight that i must say that i was not used to but given the fact that there are so many islands in the philippines I can not say that i was really surprised.

waiting for the boat My lady is waiting

Finally we boarded the boat a much awaited trip across to tagbillaren then down to bohol beach and at this point we were looking at an early evening arrival which was a slight departure from the original plan but travel is like that so you learn to accept it as part of life. We were just so much looking forward to relaxing by the beach that it really did not matter. Myself I was just enjoying the experience and the company of my lady it was good to be able to chill with someone so dear to me. the next day as the sun came up over the beach at bohol we found ourselves hand in hand walking along the beach befor enjoying a nice breakfast.

Early Morning and were awake

Early morning bohol beach

After spending the first day relaxing and deciding what we were going to do, planning and booking tours ect i was surprised how fast the day went but we achieved what we wanted to we organised a full day tour which took in the blood covenant site which was interesting that it was the site where Magellan first signed a treaty with the native philippino people and the covenant was sealed with all parties drinking a mixture of their blood and red wine. On to the chocolate hills which i must say were amazing and take there name from the season where there is little water and they turn a chocolate brown colour and there is literally hundreds of them i saw them green but i can imagine that they would be spectacular if they were brown, just like hundreds of little chocolate drops all perfectly shaped. On then to the butterfly dome and all the beautifull buterfly's so many beautiful colours and sizes. then therewas the suspension bridge which was a little daunting to look at but once you started the journey from one side to the other i was not so bad and it was all worth it to get to the other side to taste coconut milk from the shell and eat the fresh coconut. This of course was followed by lunch on the loboc river which was excellent and much needed with the boat stopping at a pontoon with alot of brightly dressed singers and dancers awesome and the river itself was beautifull, then the moment i was waiting for the tarsiers the philippines trip was not complete without seeing these lovely little creatures, the worlds smallest monkey apparently totally amazing. Back to tagbillaren to finish the day with a look at an old stone church without which the day would not have been complete.

We spent some time on the beach and just relaxed and enjoyed the sun and the peacefull atmosphere walking and talking and laughing filling in the days wishing it would never end. The highlight of our stay was however theopportunity to do some scuba diving and swimming with the fish what can i say totally mind blowing experience words fail me here so i will just show you some photo's.
