The memoirs of an old man

When my angel asked me to contribute to her Blog i was not at all sure what to write so i thought about it and i still am not sure what to write but here we go anyway. I thought because it is Nesies Blog i will tell you all about my sweetness. The story goes like this i met Nesa about 5 months ago and we started emailing each other then chatting over the net, i discovered what a beautiful and unique person she was and decided to spend some time with her when i visited the Philippines in September. She has totally changed my perspective on life for the better and the more i get to know her the more i find to like about her.

On route Singapore to Cebu.

Anyway i digress it was mid September and the plane touched down in Cebu and one very tired yet very excited Australian tourist got off the plane, being a first time traveler to any port outside of Australia i was not sure what to expect, weariness expectation and excitement make for a strange combination of feelings and it leaves one with an emotional high. Passed through customs speedily and poured myself onto the street outside what greeted me there was unexpected to say the least a bustling throng of people wanting to carry my bags and load them into taxis all working for tips which to this old Australian dinosaur was something completely foreign.

Comming into cebu.

So there i stood on the sidewalk on an emotional high, punctuated by moments of weariness, with my guitar on my back looking expectantly for the mysterious young lady who i knew as Nesa. Thoughts clamoring for control of my head was she going to be there or was i going to be a stranger in a foreign land left to fend for myself, a would be eventuality that i was not prepared for so i reached for my mobile phone when the prevailing thought was no she is probably just running a little late or fashionably late they would call it. We spoke briefly and my angel allayed all my fears and reassured mind " she was just fashionably late" I looked across the now deserted street to a taxi driver impatiently waiting for his fare and reassured him that i would not be long i was awaiting the arrival of a friend. Little did i know that the next two weeks would change my life for the better in fact they would turn my world completely upside down. With a heart of great expectation i stood alone by the airport entrance when i saw in the distance the most beautiful lady that i have ever seen coming toward me, she through her arms around me and to this day i remember her first words she whispered in my ear " you look good" she introduced me to her friend Karen and we talked as we made our way to the waiting taxi i tipped the man for carrying my bags as the ladies made themselves comfortable in the taxi.

The most beautiful woman i have ever seen at the waterfront Cebu.

Soon enough the taxi was making its way through the streets of Cebu at a comfortable pace with the relaxed conversation in the rear interrupted by the occasional sounding of the taxis horn. The afternoon drew on and we reached my hotel the waterfront Cebu. We talked at length through the night till exhausted i slept. With excitement in her voice Nesa spoke of all the places that she would show me and the two weeks that ensued were full of wonderful sites sounds and smells we visited Masin on Leyte and Davao not to mention Bohol and the chocolate hills. We toured and dived on the reef at Bohol, Nesa made my trip to the Philippines a truly memorable experience
